Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency holds training and coaching for certification to 300 technicians from 87 Emission Test Organizing Workshops (BPUE) during this October.
We want to increase number of technicians who are able to carry out emission tests
Jakarta LH Agency Environmental Impact Control Division Head, Yusiono A. Supalal mentioned, training material was given virtually and the practice was carried out at Jakarta LH Agency's workshop in Cililitan, East Jakarta.
"This training is not given to people who can't carry out emission test and later become a technician. But we want to increase number of technicians who are able to carry out emission tests thus later can be placed in emission test workshops or vehicle emission test sites," he explained, Tuesday (10/20).
Every Tuesday and Thursday, LH Agency Office Opens Free Emission Test for PublicAccording to him, this training was provided to prepare 550 workshops for carrying out emission test. Currently, there are only 155 workshops that are competent for emission testing in Jakarta.
Thus, in this activity, participants will learn about Standard Operating Procedure for Emission Test, such as emission test equipment that must be calibrated and updated, connected network, vehicle checking by ensuring the exhaust doesn't leak, checking RPM/engine speed (idle), temperature, year of manufacture and machine capacity (CC), vehicle weight (only for diesel vehicles).
"Because the participants are from various workshops, emission test equipment and its brands must be vary. From various existing conditions, we will inform the right procedures, because there are rules and standards in carrying out emission test," he asserted.
Through this training, his side also expected to inform the policies and regulations that should be known by technicians, thus official workshops have the same vision in improving air quality in Jakarta.
"Because it is related to regulations, laws, regional Regulations (Perda), Gubernatorial Regulations (Pergub), that certainly not found at the other ATPMs. We, as the government, are obliged to explain it thus the technicians know the purposes and understand the rules that must be obeyed," he said.
Technicians were also trained about emission test information system or E-Uji Emisi and how to use it. Participants will get a certificate as well as User ID and E-Uji Emisi password at the end of training.
"It is important how they will input the emission test results. Not only certificates, but we also provide User ID and password for them," he closed.
